OATS & RAWA IDLIS
Take 1 cup of oats ,roast it for 2 minutes in a pan
,let it come to room temp ,then grind it in a mixer to a powder.
In a pan heat oil (1 tbsp) add ½ tbsp. of
ghee/clarified butter
Add ½ tsp of mustard seeds,1 tsp of urid dal,1 tbsp
of cashew nut pieces,1 tsp of hing/asafotedia,6-7 curry leaves
Now add 1 small onion chopped fry well add ½ cup of
rawa/semolina….fry for a minute and keep aside
In a large bowl first take the above mixture ,add
the ground roasted oats,add salt to taste,1/2 cup of curd/dahi,the juice of 1
small lime/lemon,now add ¾ cup water to make an idli consistency batter.
Prepare the idli steamer ,grease the idli plates
with oil /ghee
Now add 1 tbsp or 1 small packet of eno/fruit salts
to the mixture stir well fill this in the idli plates ,steam for 20 minutes.
