DAL KHICHDI RECIPE|With Tadka|डाळ खिचडी|दाल खिचडीDAL KHICHDI RECIPE Recipe video Today's recipe is my soul food recipe,something that just warms you up from within..easy to prepare ..here are the ingredients and methodIngredients1 cup of rice1 cup of moong dal(yellow)/toor dal ..you can use either of the two5-6 cloves of garlic chopped very fine,1inch of ginger grated1 medium sized onion chopped fineA few curry leaves & 1/2 a cup of chopped coriander1/2 tsp of kanda lasun masala (optional)Salt to taste & juice of 1/2 a lemon1 tsp of mustard seeds,hing/asafotedia & cumin seeds1/2 tsp of haldi /turmeric powderFor the tadka …2-3 cloves of garlic chopped very fine & 2-3 dried red chillies cut Into fours..MethodWash and soak the dal & rice for 15 mins,pressure cook by adding 3 cups of water for 1 whistle on high & simmer for 10 mins..In a pressure pan heat 1 & 1/2 tbsp of ghee/oil..add the mustard seeds,hing,cumin,haldi,chopped garlic,grated ginger ,onions & curry leaves and fry everything well…add the kanda lasun masala too..add the dalrice mix..saute well ,add 10 cup of water and mix well ,add salt ,pressure cook for 1 whistle and turn off the heat..once the cooker is opened Heat for a minute,add the chopped coriander and turn off the heat,prepare the tadka by heating 1 tbsp of ghee ,add the chopped garlic & red chillies ,fry them well add this to the dal khichdi…mix well..while serving drizzle some lemon juice & ghee…Enjoy!
