 GOAN FISH CALDIN RECIPE|GOAN COCONUT MILK CURRY |GOAN RECIPE

The Caldine Curry is a yellow  Goan curry   usually made with any white fleshey fish ,one can make it with  with prawns and okra/bhendi too. . Its a very light and refreshing curry and goes best with some goan rice or any steamed rice.

Ingredients
250 gms fish
1 small onion finely chopped
6-7 cloves of garlic finely chopped
1 inch of ginger very finely chopped
1/2 a tomato very finely chopped
1 cup of coconut milk.
6 cloves/lavang
1 tsp of turmeric /haldi powder
1 tsp of cumin/jeera powder
1 tsp of corriander/dhania powder
1/2 tsp of pepper powder
1 & 1/2 tsp of vinegar
salt to taste
1/2 cup of water

Method
Add Oil to a pan,Once the oil is hot add the fish pieces and fry well for 1 minute on both sides.
Once the fish is cooked well,take the pieces out & set aside.To the same pan ,in the remaining oil,add the cloves,finely chopped ginger,garlic & Onions.Fry everything really well.
Mix the powder masalas in a bowl(coriander,cumin,turmeric & pepper powder) well,To these mixed powders add 2 tbsp of water & mix well to form a paste.
Add this paste to the bagar of onions,ginger garlic etc,mix well.
Add 1/2 Cup of water & mix well.Let the mixture come to a boil.Now add the coconut milk & mix well.Add salt to taste,mix well.Add the tomatoes,Mix everything really nicely.
Add the fish pieces & cover & cook on a low to medium heat for 2-3 mins or till the fish is nicely cooked.
Fish Caldine is all ready to enjoy with some rice ....pickle at the side.
