MOONG USAL|मोड आलेल्या मुगाची उसळ|Sprouted green moong usal|
Today's easy recipe is a different way of making usal with sprouted green moong
here are the ingredients and method.
Ingredients
1 cup of sprouted green moong
2 large cloves of garlic grated
1 medium sized onion chopped fine
1/2 tsp each of mustard seeds, cumin seeds, asafetida and turmeric powder
1 tbsp of kitchen king masala
Salt to taste
1 tbsp of gul/jaggery
Fresh coriander for garnish
Method
For sprouting the green moong
---------------------------------
Take 1 cup of green moong, wash it well and soak it in 3 cups of water for 10 hours, drain all the water, keep it aside for another 10 hours …it will sprout.
Add this sprouted moong to a pressure pan, add 1 & ½ cup of water and pressure cook for 1 whistle on high, switch off the flame. Let the cooker come to room temperature. Transfer the cooked moong to a bowl. Add 1 tbsp. oil to a pan, once it heats up add 1/2 tsp of mustard seeds,cumin,hing and turmeric powder…add the garlic and onion ,fry well add the cooked moong. Add salt to taste, kitchen king masala and gul…cover & cook for 5 mins on a low flame. Garnish with coriander …serve hot with some rotis or dal & rice..
