Goan Prawn Chilly fry Recipe
Ingredients
1 cup/250 grams of prawns cleaned & deviened
1 medium onion chopped
1 inch ginger chopped fine
4 cloves of garlic chopped fine
2 green chillies cut into halves
1 medium tomato chopped fine
1/2 cup of corriander chopped fine
1/2 tsp turmeric powder
1/2 tsp of red chilli powder
salt to taste
1-2 tbsp Oil for cooking
Method
Apply 1/4 tsp red chilli powder,salt & 1/4 tsp turmeric powder to the deveined & cleaned prawns.Mix Well.Set aside for 10 mins.
Heat oil in a pan,Once the oil is hot ,add the prawns to the oil and fry well till cooked,They will curl up and also change colour from a pink colour to a thick, dense white.Once done take them out & set aside.
To the same oil which is in the pan,add the garlic,ginger & green chillies & fry well.Add the onions ,fry well till translucent,Cover & Cook for 1/2 a minute.Add the tomatoes and fry well.Add 1/2 of the coriander leaves & fry well,this enhances the flavour of the chilly fry,Add the remaining 1/4 tsp turmeric powder & 1/4 tsp red chilli powder,saute everything well.
Cover & cook for 1 minute.
Add the fried prawns to the bagar,mix well,Garnish with the remaining coriander leaves...ready to enjoy with some Goan Chappatis
