Ribbon Cake |Step by step explanation

 Today's recipe is “Ribbon cake” –I got this recipe from my dear friend Ellona..it was her grandmom's secret recipe..Thankyou Ellona for sharing this beautiful recipe with me...

here are the  ingredients & method

Ingredients

4 egg yolks & 4 egg whites separated

250 grams of flour/maida

250 grams of powdered sugar

1tsp of vanilla essence

1 tsp of baking powder

food colour of your choice

1/4 cup of drinking soda

100 grams of butter at room temp

Method

Beat the egg white well till fluffy set aside.In a separate bowl add the egg yolks & powdered sugar & beat well till thick & creamy,add the vanilla essence as well as the baking powder

& mix well.add the butter & mix well,add the soda & mix well..now add the flour ,half at a time and fold it in well..Preheat your oven to 180 deg C for 10 mins.Divide the batter into 4 parts,leave one part plain,add colours of your choice to the other three.Line a 7 by 7 inch cake tin with some baking paper.First pour in the plain batter ,spread it evenly,do the rest with the remaining 3 colorful batters..as shown in the video.take a sharp knife and swirl as shown in the video.Bake in the preheated oven @ 180deg C for 15 mins..Cut the cake once cooled to room temp and see the beautiful design of this beautiful & unique Ribbon Cake.
