TilGul Vadi Recipe|तिळगुळ वडी|Makar Sankranti special
Tilachi vadi is a traditional Maharashtrian recipe.It is a softer consistency than a tilgul ladoo.It is made on Makar Sankranti.Its good for the winter as sesame seeds or til are said to be eaten in the winter months . Tilachi vadi is made using sesame seeds i.e. til and jaggery/gul. This is very easy and simple recipe. Do try this recipe at home and let me know how you liked it.

Makar Sankranti special -Til gul vadi
Ingredients for 16 vadis
1/2 cup roasted sesame seeds/til
1/4 cup of roasted desiccated coconut
1 cup of grated jaggery/gul
1 tsp of elaichi /cardammon powder(4-5 elaichis)
4 tbsp of ghee/clarified butter
Method
After roasting the sesame seeds /til ,grind 3/4 th of it to a coarse powder.
To the 1/4 th roasted sesame seeds add the roasted desiccated coconut,add the coarsely ground sesame seeds and the elaichi powder.Mix everything well .
In a pan heat the ghee ,once hot add the grated jiggery/gul.keep stiriing till the jiggery melts
Completely ,once the jaggery melts add the mixture,stir for only a minute.Transfer to a tray or the back of a greased steel tray ,smoothen out ,cut into squares while the mixture is still warm.
After an hour separate the vadis…You can store in a dry & clean glass bottle
